Sexual Assault Awareness Month March & Vigil
April 26 @ 5:30 pm - 7:00 pm
Every April 26, we honor Denim Day. Denim Day has been internationally celebrated since 1999 in protest of an Italian High Court Ruling that overturned a rape conviction because the victim was wearing jeans. Enraged by the verdict, women of the Italian Legislation protested the decision by wearing jeans to work. As news of the decision spread, so did the protest.
Show your support of survivors of sexual assault by wearing jeans and joining the YWCA Kalamazoo for SAAM March/Vigil from 5:30pm-7:00pm at the YWCA Kalamazoo/Bronson Park. Join us on our march starting at YWCA Kalamazoo and ending with a Candlelight Vigil at Bronson Park where you will hear from community speakers and survivors.
